Special mobile information centres giving local details of Railtrack's £580 million Thameslink 2000 project have taken to the road. Sixteen locations were visited in June and another seven locations are planned for July.
The information centres will ensure that local residents have an opportunity to comment on the development of this project which will significantly increase train capacity on the current Thameslink route and make it easier to travel to places north and south of London.
The centres will be at locations at or close to key railway stations along the route throughout July. They will be manned from 1200 to 2000.
Advance notice of these dates will be advertised in the local newspapers and at the stations.
An information hotline has been set up for those who cannot make the exhibition centres. The phone number is 0845 000 2000.
