Regulator seeks new chief for the North Western England Rail Users' Committee
Following the resignation of Professor Tom Cannon as chairman of the North Western England Rail Users' Consultative Committee, effective from the 14 November, the Rail Regulator has launched a search for his successor.
The part-time appointment attracts an annual salary of £6,646 (under review), for around six days work per month. Candidates must be frequent users of rail services and should have experience of chairing high level committee meetings.
It is expected that the successful candidate will live in the region which covers Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. The office of the RUCC for North Western England is based in Manchester.
The chairperson is appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions after consultation with the Rail Regulator, John Swift QC.
