Railtrack promotes key Directors
Railtrack has announced today the promotion of two of its key directors.
Chris Leah, 50, who is currently Zone Director, North West will take up the job of Director, Operations at Railtrack's London headquarters in April 1998.
Chris has a strong professional transport background with extensive railway operational management experience, having joined British Railways Board in 1966. Following a number of senior jobs within British Rail, he developed the North West Zone business unit and took up the job as Zone Director, on the formation of Railtrack in 1993. He is a council member of the North West CBI and is active in North West professional business circles.
Martin Reynolds, 50, who is currently Director, Project Delivery, will take up the job of Director, Development at Railtrack's London headquarters in April 1998.
Martin is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and is currently the President Elect of the Permanent Way Institution. A British Railways Board sponsored graduate, he progressed through various civil engineering jobs to become Chief Engineer, Union Railways, before taking up the job of Zone Director, Great Western on the formation of Railtrack in 1993.
Both jobs have been created as part of a restructuring of the Engineering and Production Directorate, to provide focused leadership in two key areas of Railtrack business. These new jobs are also created to deliver improved efficiency and drive out bureaucracy, key objectives for Railtrack, which have been identified by Gerald Corbett, the new Chief Executive. The new jobs also provide potential career succession opportunities at Board level in due course.
