Britain's fastest train operator today confirmed that it is to extend its services to link Skipton and Keighley with London Kings Cross.
From Monday 28 September a direct service will run from Skipton via Keighley to London Kings Cross each weekday morning with a return service from London in the evening.
The service provided by one of GNER's newly refurbished high speed diesel trains will leave Skipton at 0654 calling at Keighley at 0705 and Shipley at 0714 to arrive in London at 0947
Heading northbound the train will leave Kings Cross at 1750 to arrive Keighley at 2039 and Skipton at 2052.
"Business and tourism leaders have been pressing us for some time to run a service to link Skipton and Keighley with London, we aim to meet these aspirations by providing a new train service and by working in partnership with local representatives we aim to ensure that the service is well used" said Christopher Garnett, GNER Chief Executive.
"We hope that the arrival time In London before 1000hrs will prove attractive to business and leisure travellers from the region."
