Budget changes which will make travel to work and business travel by car less financially attractive were warmly welcomed today by the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC).
"The train operating companies want to compete with other forms of transport on a level playing field," said James Gordon, Director General of the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC).
"The Chancellor's announcements on taxation of company cars and on green commuting plans mark a shift towards fair competition between road and rail. This is a good start and we look forward to further steps in subsequent budgets."
