Official opening of Docklands Light Railway Lewisham Link

The Deputy Prime Minister will officially open the Lewisham Link of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) on Monday 22 November.

The opening ceremony will take place at 10.55am (arrive by 10.45am). Photographers and TV crews are invited to attend at Lewisham DLR station platform, Loampit Vale, Lewisham.

Media facilities:
There will be two photo opportunities between 10.55am and 11.20am (times approximate)

10.55 am - The DPM arrives on the first DLR train accompanied by local schoolchildren

11.10 am - The DPM unveils a commemorative plaque on the new platform

TV and stills photographs of John Prescott travelling from Tower Gateway DLR station to Lewisham will be available on a pool basis (contact either for TV - London Tonight newsdesk for feeding shots out or for stills - PA Picture Desk).

There will be opportunities for interviews.

TV crews will be able to film the DPM's address to an audience of invited guests in the marquee, located at the junction of Loampit Vale and Molesworth Street – opposite Lewisham DLR station.
