Connex acts to resolve problems with Networker trains
date 31 March 2000 source Connex type Press release
CONNEX is taking immediate action to resolve problems which have been encountered with the wheel bearings on some of its Networker trains which operate Metro services between London, Dartford, the Medway Towns, Hayes and Sevenoaks.
Affected trains are being taken out of service for wheel bearing component changes during the next few weeks, and this will regrettably lead to some service cancellations from Monday 3 April until further notice. Full details of the service alterations will be published at local stations, and will also be available from National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.
This website will also be updated every time we have more information.
Safety being Connex's priority, means additional examinations of the trains concerned are being undertaken as a precautionary measure.
We are sorry for the potential cancellations, and are doing everthing we can to minimise the problems.
