AS part of its £360 million relaunch as c2c, the train company operating services from south Essex to the City of London has launched a new website. The site www.c2c-online.co.uk covers all aspects of the new company, giving news on developments and investment, train running information and journey planner, ticket options and savings, forthcoming events and recruitment opportunities. In true interactive fashion, there is also a feedback section, where customers can send comments or questions to the company over the internet.

As well as providing useful information for commuters using the route, leisure travellers planning days out and people wanting information on the the company and its services, the site has a built in 'fun factor'. Visitors clicking onto the c2c memory game banner on the home page can play a 'match the icons' game with the chance to win an £800 iMac computer.

The website went live on Friday (June 16) after three-months development and construction by c2c staff and internet design and build agency Liquid Light, based in Brighton.
c2c's New Media Manager Jose Fontenla said:

'We will be adding to the website as we go, depending on how popular and useful elements of the site are judged to be by our customers and site visitors. We will soon be introducing the ability to buy train tickets from our site and we may link in a live webcam from Fenchurch Street station. And there are lots of other exciting developments planned for the near future. As well as the speed and convenience of e-commerce, there are many new innovations open to us now that c2c has a significant presence on the internet.'

The site has been launched ahead of the official switchover on Sunday July 2 to the new company name c2c, formerly LTS Rail. It is being relaunched as c2c as part of a £360 million investment in new trains, station upgrades, high-tech innovations and a complete culture change among staff with a focus on 'commitment 2 customers.'
