Train information ready for Christmas

National Rail operators plan to have timetable information for services leading up to Christmas available to passengers by Monday.
ATOC Director General, George Muir, said: "22 operators have already input their Christmas services into the rail database and this will be available on Monday. The other operators will be entering their Christmas details as soon as possible.
"Passengers will be able to access this information by either calling National Rail Enquiries or checking the various rail company web sites. This information will not be published in one national book, although individual train companies may publish details of their own services."
With Railtrack engineering works continuing over the next four weekends and higher-speed limits, services may be altered. Changes are likely to include extra services being added to the Christmas timetable. Train companies likely to have timetable modifications are the ones using the routes out of London to Norwich, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield and the West Country.
Long distance operators are now taking bookings leading up to Christmas on services that they know will be running.
