  type Press release

National Rail operators today made available timetable information for services leading up to Christmas.

Passengers planning to travel prior to Christmas can access the information by either calling the National Rail Enquiry Service (08457 484950) or checking the websites www.nationalrail.co.uk, www.thetrainline.com or www.railtrack.co.uk.

ATOC Director General, George Muir, said: "All operators have timetables leading up to Christmas. Long distance inter-city operators have been taking reservations from their call centres for the Christmas and New Year period since, " Mr Muir said.

Note to editors

Of the 78 passenger train routes across the UK, only two have not been entered into the timetable database. WAGN services from London to Cambridge and Hull Trains services from London to Hull (due to extensive engineering work on the East Coast Main Line). Partial details are available for Anglia Railways and First Great Eastern, as they are awaiting confirmation from Railtrack regarding the possible closure of Liverpool Street station during the Christmas period. GNER's full Christmas timetable will be available from next Monday, based on information provided by Railtrack.
