Hull Trains has announced that a near normal mainline train service between Hull, Brough, Selby, Doncaster and London will resume on Monday 15 January 2001.
From Monday this will result in improved journey times and a resumption of three direct services between Hull and London (in each direction) with trains departing either Hull or London Kings Cross at the normal scheduled departure time.
With services returning to a near normal timetable, Hull Trains is planning to introduce further fare offers and discounts over the coming weeks. Hull Trains dedicated fares have not been increased, and a recent survey in the Independent on Sunday listed Hull Trains family fares to London as the cheapest per mile in the country. To book tickets, customers should call Hull Trains on 01482 606388.
For further information, please call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.
Commenting on the timetable improvements, Jim Morgan, Hull Trains’ managing director said: “The resumption of a near normal timetable is excellent news for all our customers. We expect to make further improvements over the coming weeks and will continue to work with Railtrack to restore the normal scheduled timetable as quickly as possible.
“The problems we have experienced since late October have been frustrating for everyone, and I am grateful to all our passengers for their understanding and continued custom while a temporary timetable has been in place. I would also like to pay tribute to all Hull Trains staff for their dedication and professionalism in endeavouring to deliver the best possible service over recent weeks.”
