TEMPORARY TIMETABLE AVAILABLE IN OUR ENGINEERING UPDATES SECTION.
There are changes to our local train services between Ipswich and Cambridge/Peterborough from Friday 2 February 2001, because of damaged points in the Chippenham area, near Ely.
This will require some track replacement and associated work, which may result in changes to services for several weeks.
As a result, between Friday 2 and Saturday 3 February, the following alternative arrangements will apply for passengers travelling between Ipswich and Cambridge or Peterborough.
IPSWICH – CAMBRIDGE. Trains will operate between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, with a replacement coach service between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. The replacement Coach service will call at intermediate stations between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.
Train Tickets for journeys to Cambridge are valid for travel via Ely station.
IPSWICH – PETERBOROUGH Trains will operate between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds with a replacement coach service between Bury St Edmunds and Ely. The coach service will also call at intermediate stations between Bury St Edmunds and Ely.
Some trains will also run between Bury St Edmunds and Ely.
Further information concerning the alternative arrangements is available from Customer Service staff at Staffed stations, or via the station telephone help points.
