Changes to Anglia Railways’ London Crosslink services
date 28 February 2001 source Anglia Railways type Press release
Some timetable changes to Anglia Railways’ current scheduled London Crosslink service between Stratford and Basingstoke will be introduced from Thursday 1 March.
This will result in the temporary cancellation of some London Crosslink services, in order to provide additional trains to Anglia Railways’ sister company, Hull Trains following today’s tragic rail accident near Doncaster.
This is to enable Hull Trains to double the seating capacity on all their services between Hull, Doncaster and London to provide additional seats on East Coast Main Line services. This is part of an industry-wide response - agreed with the Strategic Rail Authority - to today’s accident, while GNER services are operating to a revised timetable, and will apply from Thursday 1 March until at least Monday 5 March.
As a result, the following London Crosslink services will not run until further notice:
08.04 and 14.04 services from Stratford to Basingstoke
10.32 and 16.32 services from Basingstoke to Stratford
Passengers should travel via London and / or services operated by Silverlink and South West Trains.
