Commenting on today's accident near Selby, North Yorkshire, Association of Train Operating Companies Director General, George Muir, said: "We are deeply shocked by this tragic accident. Our sympathy's goes out to the families and friends who will have lost loved ones today. Our thoughts also go to those injured. An investigation has already started and this will identify the cause."
