Today at the High Court in London, Mr Justice Sullivan granted Transport for London (TfL) the right to a Judicial Review of whether London Underground may proceed with the Government's planned PPP for the Tube.

Bob Kiley, Commissioner of Transport for London, said: "We are pleased that we have been given the green light to proceed with the Judicial Review. We regret that we have had to take this action, but the door remains open for negotiations at any time.

Welcoming Mr Justice Sullivan's view that "this is an issue of vital importance to Londoners," Bob Kiley added: "We hope this matter will be resolved as quickly as possible so that we can concentrate on taking the necessary action to deliver a world class Underground system for London."
