Train operators had a constructive meeting with the Trade Unions today, mainly concentrating on the proper process for making changes to the Rule Book. Both parties agreed to seek a meeting with Railway Safety to clarify the process. That meeting will take place tomorrow.
Commenting on the meeting, Director General of ATOC, George Muir, said: "We welcome the constructive approach to today¹s meeting, and we remain of the view that any proposals for changing the Rule Book must be backed up by real evidence.
"We cannot support changes which would make the railways less safe."
