Strikes by ScotRail members of the Rail Maritime and Transport Union called for 25 June and 4 July are off – thanks to a deal agreed last night between the union and the company.
ScotRail Managing Director Alastair McPherson who concluded the deal with the union in London said "I am delighted that we have been able to reach agreement. This averts the prospect of severe disruption to thousands of our passengers."
ScotRail will now be able to run normal daytime services. Information on the position regarding overnight Caledonian Sleeper services will be given later today, since this requires agreement between the union and Virgin Trains who supply traincrew for part of the route.
