Transport for London

Government given legal right to impose PPP on London

  date 30 July 2001
  source Transport for London
  type Press release

As the judgement makes clear today's decision is not on whether the government's PPP is safe and efficient.

The court's decision is simply that, irrespective of these issues, the government has the legal right to impose this scheme on London.

We will consider the judgement carefully with our lawyers before making any decision about whether or not to appeal.

Statement by Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London and Bob Kiley, Commissioner of Transport for London
