Commenting on the change to the Railtrack Board announced today, The Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) Director General, George Muir, said: "Jonson Cox put great drive into the job, but we appreciate the new chairman having a clear view of how he wants things organised.

"The job is probably the most intensive and important in the railways at this moment, and it is good to see that Steve Marshall will be focusing on it. There are very good people in the Railtrack zones. Steve must work with this team to deliver the improvements we desperately need."
