Govia has advised Connex that clearance from the competition authorities has been received for the hand-over of the South Central franchise.

Connex has agreed with Govia that the transfer will take place on 26 August.

Connex Chairman and Chief Executive, Antoine Hurel welcomed the news. "It has been a long process and I am pleased that we have now reached a conclusion. We and Govia have worked to ensure a smooth hand-over and I am confident that this will be possible," said Antoine. "I hope Govia will be able to continue the welcome upward trend in performance.

"I wish to record my appreciation of the professional way in which Govia has conducted the preparations for the hand-over and I wish them, and all South Central staff, every success in the future."
