Anglia Railways
Parcel carrying partnership gets moving
Anglia Railways and GOfers Logistics Management have joined forces to provide a same-day delivery service on the railways.
The new service will provide GOfers customers with station to station and door to door delivery services.
The service is available for anyone to use by contacting GOfers who pick up the parcels and deliver them to an Anglia Railways station. Anglia Railways staff will then put the parcel on the relevant train and take it off at the other end with GOfers arranging delivery to its final destination.
The new service will benefit GOfers customers as it is a simple, fast and cost effective way of distributing documents to and from the capital.
Anglia Railways' Public Relations Manager, Peter Meades, said, "With empty space on the trains due to the demise of Red Star, it was clear that there was an opportunity for a new partnership so we approached GOfers who were already predominant leaders in this market."
"We are delighted to have this service up and running. Initially it will be available on trains from Norwich to London Liverpool Street and intermediate stations, including Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich and Colchester, and we hope to be able to extend this new service across the rest of Anglia Railways network."
Commenting on the new delivery service, Andrew Watton, Managing Director of GOfers said, "We are pleased to be able to work alongside Anglia Railways and provide the logistics for this same-day delivery service."
