Kiley says: Respond to TfL PPP requests by Monday, or see you in court
Under threat of legal action, London Underground today informed Transport for London (TfL) that it could only respond to TfL's request for missing PPP documents and private sector profit figures by10.00am on Wednesday, March 6th.
Commissioner of Transport for London Bob Kiley said: "London Underground (LU) is continuing to withhold vital PPP documents from TfL. LU's offer to respond to TfL's request for missing PPP documents and private sector profit figures on Wednesday - two days before the end of the unilaterally imposed PPP consultation period - is totally unacceptable.
"I have informed LU that if it does not respond to TfL's request in a meaningful way by 10.00am on Monday morning, then TfL will begin legal proceedings. I do not accept the current PPP consultation period and I will only accept it has begun when TfL has all the final PPP documents.
"Throughout this whole sorry saga, LU has attempted to frustrate the so-called 'open' process. It is of the utmost importance that London's Tube users and taxpayers have all the facts on this fatally flawed scheme for the Tube. I remain of the belief that this PPP can never provide a safe Tube or one that is value for taxpayers money."
