Taking Railtrack plc out of administration: quickening the pace

Proposals are positive, practical and honourable

The Railway Forum warmly welcomes the developments, including the Network Rail statement, over the weekend proposing a comprehensive settlement of creditor interests to speed up the process of taking Railtrack plc out of administration.

The Railway Forum is most concerned that the administration process is in danger of becoming both over complex and over long. Uncertainty and delay have been sapping industry morale and damaging longer-term confidence in railway investment.

Adrian Lyons, Director General, Railway Forum said, ‘We are delighted that impediments to take Railtrack plc out of administration are now appearing to diminish. Equally we value the developments as positive, practical and honourable.’.
