Members at Network Rail’s inaugural annual general meeting today passed all the resolutions with overwhelming majorities.
Chairman Ian McAllister, chief executive John Armitt, deputy chief executive Iain Coucher and non executive director Jim Cornell were all reappointed as directors. After an address from the board, members received the report and accounts, before voting to re-appoint Deloitte and Touche as company auditors and approving the Director’s Remuneration Report.
After the AGM Chairman Ian McAllister said: “Today was a significant day for Britain’s railway with Network Rail’s first annual general meeting.
“The meeting was a robust but productive one. As is proper, the members held the board fully to account. I am certain that all of the views expressed will inform our future thinking.
“At the meeting, Network Rail executive directors delivered a series of presentations outlining our vital plans to improve safety, deliver better efficiency and cut delays. I look forward to working with the members in the coming months and years to develop Network Rail’s plans for a safe, efficient & reliable railway.”
