  type Press release

From Saturday 23 August to Sunday 31 August there is an engineering blockade on the West Coast Main Line. This means that Midland Mainline will be the only operator between Manchester and London.

There will be some alterations to Midland Mainline's Manchester services during the week 23 - 31 August.

From Saturday 23 to Monday 25 August, and from Saturday 30 to Sunday 31 August, Midland Mainline services will be diverted via Romiley and will not call at Stockport Station. The train will then travel via Leicester on its normal route to London St. Pancras. First North Western Trains will be providing a special bus service, with two buses an hour between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly to connect with Midland Mainline and other services.

Between Tuesday 26 August and Friday 29 August, all Midland Mainline services will call at Stockport station as normal.

All customers travelling during this period are advised to check their train times before travelling, by calling National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.
