National Rail travel advice for Sunday and Monday (2Nd & 3Rd November) [[(2nd & 3rd November)]]

  date 2 November 2003
  source ATOC
  type Press release

Train operators today advised passengers who intend to travel by train over Sunday and Monday, (2nd November & 3rd November) to check with the available information sources prior to travelling and allow more time for the journey.

This follows advice from the weather bureau of storms, strong winds and rain over the weekend, which when combined with autumn leaf fall, creates slippery rail conditions on the track which could lead to train delays and some cancellations.

Prior to travelling on either Sunday or Monday, passengers can check by:

Calling National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50
Looking up the Service Alterations page on the National Rail website (www.nationalrail.co.uk)
Looking at the Live Departure Boards at Britain’s 2,500 stations on the National Rail website.
