National Rail travel advice for Sunday and Monday (14 November)
date 14 November 2003 source ATOC type Press release
Train operators in Scotland and the north-west England have advised passengers who intend to travel by train over today to check with the available information sources prior to travelling and allow more time for the journey.
This follows advice from the weather bureau of storms and strong winds, which when combined with autumn leaf fall, creates slippery rail conditions on the track which could lead to train delays and some cancellations.
Prior to travelling passengers can check by:
Calling National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 Looking up the Service Alterations page on the National Rail website (www.nationalrail.co.uk) Looking at the Live Departure Boards at Britain’s 2,500 stations on the National Rail website.
Ends For more information, please call the ATOC press office on 020 7904 3010
