The Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) is the UK’s first major new railway for over a century. As part of the CTRL works, London St. Pancras station is being transformed into a world class terminal for international and domestic train services.

Friday 9 April 2004 (Good Friday) will be the last day Midland Mainline operates out of the existing station at St. Pancras before services move to a purpose-built Interim station. From Monday 12 April 2004, the Interim station will open to offer a more modern environment for passengers with a number of improvements, such as better access for disabled passengers, and improved lighting.

Key dates
Friday 9 April 2004 (Good Friday) – Good Friday is a Bank Holiday, therefore a reduced service will operate. The last service to leave the existing station is scheduled to be the 2340 to Derby. Please see the Easter timetable available from Midland Mainline stations or view it online by clicking here.

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April 2004 – St. Pancras station will be closed to allow for the existing tracks to be disconnected and connected up to the new Interim station.

During this weekend, all Midland Mainline services will start and terminate at Luton. Connections into and out of London can be made via Thameslink Trains from Kings Cross Thameslink station. (Please note that due to engineering work, Thameslink Trains will be running a reduced service on 10 and 11 April. Details of these services are shown in our Easter timetable, available shortly).

Monday 12 April 2004 (Easter Monday) – St. Pancras Interim station opens. All Midland Mainline services will operate from the Interim station from this date until March 2006. Easter Monday is a Bank Holiday, therefore a reduced service will operate. Please see the Easter timetable for full details.

Further information on the latest CTRL developments is available in St. Pancras News. Please click here to read the latest edition, or pick up a copy at stations or on the train.
