Paul Furze-Waddock joins National Express

National Express Group has today announced that Paul Furze-Waddock will be joining the company as Commercial Development Director from October.

Paul’s work will focus on the company’s future strategic commercial opportunities in the UK and abroad. Paul will also support our UK rail bid teams in future franchise rounds.

Dean Finch, National Express Group Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted that Paul will be joining National Express as Commercial Development Director. His exceptional commercial and rail bidding experience will only enhance our already strong team. I look forward to Paul joining us later in the year."

Paul Furze-Waddock said: “I am looking forward to joining National Express Group at such an important time. With many emerging commercial opportunities, including future rail franchises, in the coming years this is a tremendous opportunity to help expand National Express’ presence in the international transport market.”

Paul is currently Business Development Director for Virgin Trains, and led their bid to retain the West Coast Main Line franchise. He has been with Virgin since the beginning of 2010, and before that was Commercial Director (Rail) for First Group, a role he held for around eight years.
