We are delighted to unveil our eagerly anticipated Terrace Wires public art installation, Thought of Train of Thought, by Royal Academician Ron Arad at St Pancras International.

The artpiece is the second instalment of our four-year partnership with the Royal Academy following Cornelia Parker RA’s One More Time in 2015. This year also marks the fourth year of Terrace Wires itself, our commissioning programme for new artwork by leading, international artists.

Suspended on wires from the station’s Grade 1 listed Barlow Shed roof, as if floating, Thought of Train of Thought is a monumental 18-metre-long twisted blade rotating slowly to create an optical illusion of wave-like movement. Minimal and monolithic, the hypnotic motion offers passengers and visitors to the station a moment of calm in the midst of their busy lives.

Fabricated by CIG Architecture based in Groningen in the Netherlands, Thought of Train of Thought can be viewed at St Pancras International station until January 2017.
