HS1 Commercial Director, Wendy Spinks, receives OBE in Queen’s Birthday honours list

Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director of HS1 Limited, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to transport.

Wendy joined HS1 Limited in 2010 from Heathrow Airport where she managed the retail offering for the newly launched Terminal 5. HS1 operate, manage and maintain the high-speed railway line connecting London to the Channel Tunnel as well as the stations along the route, including the Grade 1 listed St Pancras International, which welcomes over 48M customers each year. As HS1’s Commercial Director she has overseen St Pancras International’s growth into a destination in its own right, offerring an enticing alternative to traditional London shopping locations such as Oxford Street and large shopping malls. Wendy also manages the Retail and Car Park portfolio at the other stations along the route, leading a team that has consistently delivered high quality customer service and passenger satisfaction. This award follows Wendy’s recognitition in 2016 as one of the Top 20 Influential Women in Rail.

Wendy said: “It is a huge honour to be recognised for such a prestigious award and it is humbling to think l that I join a group of people who have given so much back to the nation. I have always been passionate about providing high quality service and an excellent passenger experience to our customers. Of course I have been lucky to have had the support, assistance and drive of a wonderful team of people behind me at HS1 and at Network Rail (High Speed) who are committed to delivering to the highest possible standards.”
