By 1928 the LMS Magazine had lost its highly decorated masthead, which was replaced by a simpler layout.
The LMS was the largest of the ‘Big Four’ companies, and its magazine was still being published in five slip editions, each containing pages of local news from the various areas.
The front cover shown here is an example of the sixth, ‘omnibus’ edition, which cost twopence rather than a penny. It contained all the local sections and was made distinctive by the code letter ‘F’.
